Rockdale celebrates 30 years of care by lovely Louisa!

Louisa, pictured below, celebrating 30 years as a carer at the residential care home at Rockdale.

Originally Louisa worked in the first care home on Rockdale’s site, which has now been converted into leasehold supported independent living apartments.  Rockdale’s modern care home was built 10 years ago on Rockdale’s site and this is where Louisa continues to care for elderly residents today with kindness, passion, and a huge amount of care.

Memories of the original care home on Rockdale’s site, came flooding back to Louisa when asked about her time there.  A croquet lawn, fruit trees, gazebo and raised beds.  30 residents in total, many who were very independent and the oldest resident being 109 years old!

Today, Rockdale House Care Home is a modern care home with 48 ensuite bedrooms and 2 respite rooms.  Louisa has seen many changes in the level of care and is passionate about continuous care for residents in older years.  Louisa said,

‘The relationship between carers and residents in care homes is very special and, in her job, getting to know the residents and their personalities every single day is key to ensuring their good health, happiness and welfare.’

Rockdale is very lucky to have Louisa and her colleagues supporting and caring for our residents.  Going above and beyond every single day, making a huge difference to the lives of the residents and their loved ones.  Thank you, Louisa.
