I’m Bea. I’m the Registered Manager of Rockdale Cares.

Rockdale Cares is a personal home care service, available for any Rockdale Village resident living in our independent-living flats. Whether you have rented your apartment or bought it, we are on hand to help.

Meet Maria, Lindsay, Fran, Wendy, Matilda, Mildred and Lindsay. They are all Rockdale Cares carers – members of Rockdale staff who are on-site daily between 7am and 9pm. They can make your day that little bit easier, offering help when you need it, however you need it.

At Rockdale Cares we don’t believe ‘one size fits all’. Our care is bespoke – tailored to you specifically and fitted to your individual needs. So whether you need assistance getting dressed or having a bath, a helping hand with your medications or meals, or a steadying arm to lean on when you go shopping or for a GP or dental appointment, the Rockdale Cares carers can help. Or if you prefer, we can just be a friendly companion for you to share a cup of tea with and beat at Scrabble!

Rockdale Cares appointments can be booked for as little as 15 minutes or for as long as you need. You can book us as often or as infrequently as you want. We can help you regularly, temporarily (for example, when your family is on holiday), or even as a one-off.*

Rockdale Cares only serves Rockdale Village residents and our immediate neighbours. So, unlike outside care agencies, we are always on hand, always flexible, and never late because we’re stuck in traffic. Want a quick chat…? You can always pop in and find us at our base in Rockdale Gardens.

We’re not-for-profit.

As part of Rockdale Village you can rest assured that our charges are kept to a minimum. Any money raised is reinvested back into Rockdale to benefit you and your neighbours.

The Rockdale Cares carers are marvellous. They help us get going in the mornings by making breakfast and helping us get dressed. They also do jobs we now find difficult, like making the bed. Ultimately, they give us confidence that we can keep living independently and help us do things we’d worry about doing on our own.

It's such a relief to have Rockdale Cares. I have Parkinson’s so some things are really difficult for me. But the Rockdale Cares girls come to see me every day and make my life so much easier, and now I wonder why I never got help earlier!
