Independent Living

All of our sheltered apartments are self-contained and enjoy views of our award-winning gardens. Situated at the heart of Sevenoaks your new home will be an easy walk into town where you will find shops, G.P’s, Chemists, Opticians, the Library, cafes and restaurants.

We have two peaceful cul-de-sacs with a range of different buildings. Whether you choose to rent or lease your property you will be entitled to the same service from our teams and therefore enjoy the peace of mind that staff are available 24 hours a day. Supported living means just that – we will support you to arrange any help with your needs, changes to your circumstances and issues that arise. We know that you value your independence and your own space and therefore you can be involved in as little or as much as suits you.

Unlike many other independent living organisations, staff are always on site in case of emergencies. Each property is fitted with emergency pull-cords and intercom systems whilst hallways are equipped with fire safety features. This applies to rented and leasehold properties.

Our common rooms have so much for you to get involved in and to help you meet other residents. The common rooms are open at all times (except for private functions) for any residents to use. Activities range from art clubs, exercise and dance classes, computer clubs, games nights, afternoon teas and much more! We are sure you will find plenty to do within our little community but we also encourage residents to engage with the wider community as well as organising trips further afield.

Our in-house Home Help service is available to residents who would like extra help with day-to-day tasks such as cleaning and shopping.

This does not include any aspects of care; however, our dedicated team of Support Coordinators  are on hand to help you to arrange any further assistance you may require through external agencies.  Ellen is our Senior Support Coordinator and Ellen’s profile can be found by clicking here.

The Pantry is run in Beatrice Wilson Common Room. It’s open from Tuesday to Friday and on Sunday each week and offers an appetising two course lunch at a very reasonable cost. It is a good opportunity to meet up with friends and save you the job of washing up!

At Rockdale we give as much advice as possible to anyone thinking about moving into sheltered accommodation and can help you through the application process to decide if it’s the right move for you. Click on an image below to find out more about renting or leasing a property with us.
